Humidity

Dracaena Serrulata like high humidity but do well in basic household humidity.

Light

Dracaena Serrulata grows best in medium light. When you select “Low Light” a list of the most adaptive plants in our database appears. These plants can live in lighting conditions too low to support any other plants in our database, but will grow faster in medium and high light. Rotate Dracaena Serrulata weekly so that they don't grow toward the light, become one sided, and lose their beautiful shape..

Soil

A well draining potting soil mix is advised.

Temperature

65°F (18.3°C) - 85°F (29.4°C). Temperatures below 55°F (12.8°C) can damage the leaves. Avoid cold drafts and heaters.

Watering

Overwatering causes root rot and is the main reason a Dracaena Serrulata plant dies. Water your plant thoroughly and allow the top 75% of the soil to dry before watering again. In low light, allow the soil to dry completely before watering. Water your plant less in the winter, when light levels are lower and growth has slowed.

Fertilizing

Feed monthly in the spring and summer when the plant is actively growing with a balanced plant food diluted to 1/4 the recommended strength. Do not feed in the fall and winter.

Propagation

Dracaena Serrulata are propagated using stem cuttings.
